*Participation in the in-person, participatory workshop is by advance registration only. Space is extremely limited. The workshop will take place at NYU Tandon at the Yard (299 Sands St, Brooklyn, NY 11205).
Led by award winning XR producer and artist Michaela Holland, this workshop will take a high-level look at emerging immersive and interactive digital technologies within the umbrella of the term XR, which includes virtual reality filmmaking, game engine based experiences, and mobile-based augmented reality. Audience members will learn how virtual humans, 3D capture, and voice activated content fall under the umbrella of XR, as the presentation explores how these tools can be used to bridge the digital and physical reality. No prior experience, background knowledge, or prep needed—theatre and performance makers of all sorts are invited to take this crash course intro to the myriad possibilities in storytelling that exist in the world of XR, VR, and AR.
